This dynamic scene of Carroll Shelby re-entering
the inaugural "Road America 500" in September 1957 following a re-fueling and tire stop was photographed with a
Rolleiflex camera by this 300S Maserati's in-period owner, John Edgar. Shelby would finish second to Phil Hill's
Ferrari. Both men contested the 500 miles solo, without relief drivers. This and other archival re-prints, with certificate
letter signed by William Edgar, will soon be offered for purchase in large format suitable for collection framing.
There will also be a selection of original
Ferrari Yearbooks from the 1950s and '60s offered here, as seen in this reduced-size preview cover image, a few of which
have been sold and are no longer available. Some of these have fountain penned inscriptions by Luigi Chinetti (Sr.).
Others have Enzo Ferrari's personal name card stapled to their frontispiece.
