The Latest from Art Evans

Paramount Ranch Remembered - front & back

Paramount Ranch Remembered is a recent example of Art Evans' excellent books recalling in great detail sports car racing's golden years known as The Fabulous Fifties.  241 pages are full of facts, race results, stories, profiles, photographs and candid remembrances from the celebrated participants of the Paramount Ranch Races that were leading southern California events during the years 1956 and 1957. Recalling those times are luminaries such as Dan Gurney, Bill Krause, Ruth Levy Raymond, Jack McAfee, Bob Bondurant, Bill Pollack, Bruce Kessler, Al Moss, Chuck Daigh, Pete Vanlaw, Mary Davis, Jim Parkinson, Lew Spencer, Andy Porterfield, and the author himself, Art Evans.  This is a must for all who love The Fabulous Fifties, and who want to have Paramount Ranch's facts and race records on hand, all between two covers.  Evans calls his work, augmented by the many who contributed to it, "A Complete and Comprehensive History," and that it certainly is.  A reprint of William Edgar's "Provenance at Paramount" article that appeared in the July/August 2005 issue of Vintage Motorsport magazine, is included in the text.
